The Nick Thessalonikefs European Quartet was formed by Nick Thessalonikefs and includes some of his favorite musicians from the Amsterdam Jazz scene. This project is Nick’s effort to express, through music, his experience of life in a multicultural city in Northern Europe. The music blends modern sounds with influences from folk tradition. The compositions allow the band members to deviate from the written score, embracing their musical interaction and free interpretation of the form approach enriches the music with their own personalities and explores all its creative possibilities.
